Beauty People 365 Stay Waterproof Brush Pen Eyeliner 0,5 g Review

Ingredients:

Water, Acrylates Copolymer, CI 77491, Butylene Glycol, Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer, Black 2(77266), Alcohol, Sodium Polyacrylate, Steareth-20, 1,2-Hexanediol, Laureth-20, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Disodium EDTA, Illicium Verum (Anis) Fruit Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Phenoxyethanol.

I try to mark the sunscreen ingredients in red and other possible irritants in lilac. Ingredients thought to be good and useful for skin I mark green.  Learning as I go, google is my friend etc...

Thoughts:

The color I have, Unique Brown, is a very dark brown (perfect color, almost like black but not so stark, goes with everything) but it goes completely black in a matter of hours!!! That is truly a deal breaker because I bought it for the color!

Sometimes I can't get the color out of the brush tip despite shaking it vigorously, or the liquid comes out uneven

Also if your eyelids are oily/not powdered enough/there's sunscreen the color doesn't stick

- Fades during the day but not in an ugly way, it just slowly disappears

- I doubt it is waterproof, it's not smudge proof, my eyelids kill everything

It's not pricy but it's pricy for the amount of liquid you get

+ When the color comes out like intended, it's so incredibly easy and fast to create a beautiful pigmented line, usually I struggle with liquid eyeliners but with this pen type it was instantly crisp and symmetric

Fixing the line is easy too

Didn't irritate my eyes at all even though I did very tight line (not on waterline though, I don't think it will last at all)

Doesn't get flaky or ugly when it fades

* Even though it has a lot of points where it quite doesn't perform it's still pleasant to use overall so the only thing I'm truly mad about is the color that turns black!

Still, it's usable and good for busy mornings (no need to play with liquid eyeliners and brushes) and ordinary days when you don't need a superb make-up that lasts perfectly. Easy and fast to wash off in the evening as well.

Price:

USD 8.29 / 0,5 g

Bought from:

Jolse

Buy again?

No, at least not this color.

Worth the money?

I think it's overpriced because it doesn't do what it promises to do: waterproof, exact color, long lasting. Not to mention there is not very much product, only 0,5 grams!  I will gladly pay double price for an actually good product.

Head&Shoulders Anti-Dandruff Shampoo Classic Clean 250 ml Review

Ingredients:

Water, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Glycol Distearate, Zinc Carbonate, Sodium Chloride, Sodium Xylenesulfonate, Zinc Pyrithione, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Dimethicone, Parfum, Sodium Benzoate, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, Hydrochloric Acid, Hexyl Cinnamal, Linalool, Sodium Hydroxide, Magnesium Carbonate Hydroxide, Magnesium Nitrate, Sodium Polynaphtalenesulfonate, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Magnesium Chloride, CI 42090, Methylisothiazolinone, CI 17200.

I try to mark the sunscreen ingredients in red and other possible irritants in lilac. Ingredients thought to be good and useful for skin I mark green.  Learning as I go, google is my friend etc...

Thoughts:

After using the shampoo for a while, I didn't get the same super clean feeling anymore

If I remember right the cap of the bottle was quite tight

When I started to use this shampoo, my hair/scalp felt so clean, for several days

Very neutral, non-lingering smell

Pleasant to use, you don't have to think about the product too much when it works; I don't even remember if it was thick or thin in consistency because it was just perfect!

I like the classic clean design of the bottle

* I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised by Head&Shoulders shampoo! I always heard about it, it's such an classic, but I never bought it myself before! Maybe I thought it would be super medical harsh thing burning my scalp because I don't really have a dandruff problem, just that my scalp gets oily and hair flat.

Price:

Maybe about 3,5 € / 250 ml

Bought from:

Grocery store

Buy again?

Maybe. I just finished L'Oreal Paris Elvital Phytoclear Anti-Dandruff Shampoo and I liked that one more and they battle in the same category.

Worth the money?

I think so, yes. Nothing miraculous but works well! Could work for so many scalp types, almost a shame they market it for dandruff problems only. I would recommend Head&Shoulders.

Thoughts:

I didn't like the fruity candy fragrance in the long run, even though in the beginning it reminded me of my childhood; it was way too strong

My scalp didn't really feel clean after using this shampoo

Also my hair got oily faster so I had to wash if more often

- I didn't feel like the conditioner did much... almost the same as not using anything

Well, the smell did remind me of my childhood

I was able to use them to the end? Nothing horribly wrong

Very gentle, non-drying

* I was not the target group for this shampoo and conditioner so my opinion doesn't mean these are bad products, they just are not for me.

I definitely think people with thin, fragile natural hair could like them. For processed hair they are not nourishing enough in my opinion.

Price:

Maybe 2,50-3,50 € / 200 ml/250 ml

Bought from:

Grocery store

Buy again?

No.

Worth the money?

Not for me! The shampoo&conditioner were cheap but it doesn't matter if it's not nice to use them and they don't work for me.

A'Pieu Madecassoside Sun Cream SPF 39 PA++ 40 ml Review

Ingredients:

Centella Asiatica Leaf Water, Cyclopentasiloxane, Dibutyl Adipate, Water(Aqua), Dipropylene Glycol, Cyclohexasiloxane, Titanium Dioxide, Zinc Oxide, Phenyl Trimethicone, PEG-10 Dimethicone, Hydrogenated Poly(C6-14 Olefin), Niacinamide, Aluminum Hydroxide, Sodium Chloride, Stearic Acid, Dimethicone, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Beeswax(Cera Alba), Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 Dimethicone, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Glyceryl Caprylate, Chlorphenesin, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Oenothera Biennis (Evening Primrose) Flower Extract, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Peel Oil, Madecassoside, Disodium EDTA, Adenosine, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Peel Oil, Glycerin, Asiaticoside, Lavandula Hybrida Oil, Pelargonium Graveolens Flower Oil, Citrus Nobilis (Mandarin Orange) Peel Oil, Juniperus Mexicana Oil, Sodium Hyaluronate, 1,2-Hexanediol

I try to mark the sunscreen ingredients in red and other possible irritants in lilac. Ingredients thought to be good and useful for skin I mark green.  Learning as I go, google is my friend etc...

The box had a seal sticker on the other side, but not on the other.

Thoughts:

Very, very strong scent of puke and stomach acids immediately from tube: takes maybe a minute to turn to more citrus scent, then into fake citrus essence in cheap cupcakes, highly unpleasant

I did have two pimples after wearing this sunscreen for the first couple of days, also after a break when testing it again, a couple of whiteheads after first day of wearing. Could of course be hormonal, I don't know. Slightly pore clogging, maybe?

Even though the makeup on top of this sunscreen doesn't pill, it does separate during the day, especially if you happen to touch your skin. It's impossible to fix and looks quite bad.

Consistency is ideal in my opinion, lotion like, not too watery but still light, easy to spread

Minimal whitecast (Minimal meaning that yes, there is cast but not that bothersome; if you put two layers, yes it's bothersome)

The tube is so great to use (does this sound weird?)! The nozzle is long and thin and I can squeeze the product blobs straight to my face, it's easy to control the exact amount that comes out, it feels such a good size/shape to handle overall

Feels that it dries/absorbs fast and the result looks natural, not too shiny or sticky or matte, just like my normal skin

Can't feel the product on my skin, doesn't feel plastic or heavy

Doesn't pill under foundation usually (but I pat cc cream on usually quite little, not on my cheeks, just center of face)

* I am so far impressed by A'Pieu's Madecassoside Sun Cream! ... Yet I think it's clogging my pores a little. Not a disaster but it takes a lot of effort with bha/cleansing/etc to find the balance to stop the situation going worse.

I don't think it's really moisturizing but it's not drying my skin either. I don't think it's particularly soothing. But at least it's not irritating!

Price:

$9.85 / 40 ml

Bought from:

Ebay seller iamlove-shop

Buy again?

Maybe? It's not perfect but I still find it good. EDIT: No, it really is annoying to use long-term, it does break me out a little.

Worth the money?

Yes, even if you have to hold your breath for a minute when you put it on. Very nice consistency for a physical sunscreen.

Tamanu Oil Review

Ingredients:

Tamanu oil.

I try to mark the sunscreen ingredients in red and other possible irritants in lilac. Ingredients thought to be good and useful for skin I mark green.  Learning as I go, google is my friend etc...

Thoughts:

Might feel heavy especially if used a lot

I feel it clogs pores if used heavily or everyday, especially on my forehead

- Oily, thick feel and finish

Honestly don't know if it helps with scars, pores, skintone, aging skin as it is advertised. It doesn't make any condition worse (if you're careful about the pore clogging issue and do spot treatments lightly) so maybe you just have to use it for a long time to see results

Sinks into skin quite well despite the oiliness, especially if the skin is very dry and rough (like my hands, feet) but if the skin is healthy and balanced it can take more time or not properly absorb at all

Smell is sweet and strong, like pecan nuts. Both good and bad, I get so hungry while smelling it all day as it lingers!

Feels very nourishing, excellent for rough/parched skin

Organic

* Funny green/yellow color that will slightly stain your face for a moment with a green tint before it absorbs

Compared to rose hip seed oil, tamanu oil feels thicker and more oily. Personally rose hip oil sinks into my skin better and leaves it softer/smoother. Also I can slather rose hip as much as I want and it's not clogging at all!

It's said that tamanu oil helps to restore the skin and it's good for acne and scars

Tamanu oil is mostly oleic and linoleic acid when rose hip seed oil is mostly linoleic and linolenic acid

I think my dry cheeks (combination skin) benefit the most from this oil, also my hands, they are just always so dry and cracked during the winter, it really hurts if I miss moisturizing for a couple of days! Also I could start mixing a drop into rose hip oil or do my own carrier oil mix altogether, I have been thinking about it once I discover my favorite oils

Price:

5,80 € / 30 ml

Bought from:

Limepop.fi

Buy again?

Probably no unless I want to fix my winter hands with it next year too.

Worth the money?

If you really know what to use it for. If you're not scared of the oils. And you are willing to experiment. This is for parched skin I feel.

Skincare for Men

Obviously I'm not a man, but here are some skincare products I've bought for my significant other. When I met him, he didn't moisturize his face and washed it with hand soap (classic, right?). It looked painfully dry sometimes, it was flaking, his pores were huge and clogged. He said he used to have a bad teenage acne and had Accutane treatment. He doesn't have acne anymore, just some old scars and marks. I never forced him to use any skincare products but slowly he did take interest in them, however he never really wanted to use my products (our skintypes are very different so I can see why they didn't work for him). So. I started to buy him stuff as gifts and now he regularly uses them and asks for more when they are ending. His skin is definitely a lot better, smaller less clogged pores and smoother.

Bulldog Skincare for Men Protective Moisturiser SPF 15 Broad Spectrum 100ml

Ingredients:

Aqua (Water), Aloe barbadensis (Aloe vera) leaf juice, Octocrylene, Ethylhexyl salicylate, Ethylhexyl palmitate, Caprylic/capric triglyceride, Butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane, Glycerin, Sodium polyacrylate, Sorbitan stearate, Pentaerythrityl distearate, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium stearoyl glutamate, Benzoic acid, Carbomer, Tocopherol, Mannan, Dehydroacetic acid, Camellia sinensis (Green tea) leaf extract, Sodium hydroxide, Citrus aurantium bergamia (Bergamot) peel oil, Citrus limon (Lemon) peel oil, Potassium sorbate, Artemesia vulgaris oil, Juniperus virginiana oil, Pelargonium graveolens oil, Pogostemon cablin leaf oil, Pogostemon cablin oil, Citric acid, Citrus aurantifolia (Lime) oil, Vetiveria zizanoides root oil, Zingiber officinale (Ginger) root oil, Citronellol, Limonene, Linalool.

Price:

About 16 € in my country, 7-10 € Feelunique

Bought from:

Feelunique

Buy again?

Yes.

Thoughts:

* First moisturizer I bought for him and he instantly seemed to like it

SPF is very important because he won't use separate sunscreen unless he is afraid of burning, so it's good compromise to have at least some in moisturizer (even though the filters are not very good?)

Good value for money if I order from another country

He has now used two of these and I bought two more

Moisturizes but I don't notice any big changes

Fast absorbing cream, doesn't leave stickiness or film, even though it's very thick and in the beginning feels like it's just sliding around

I don't know.

Thoughts:

He said he didn't like Mancave moisturizer as much as Bulldog

I noticed his skin looked slightly better after he started to use Mancave compared to Bulldog

He has used one of these and I don't know if I repurchase as he doesn't prefer it

* Strong fragrance that he didn't mind but I had to ask him to use another moisturizer for night
because I couldn't stand it lingering all over the place for hours

* Good it has some SPF (even though the filters are not very good?)

Recipe For Men Facial Moisturiser + 75ml

Ingredients:

Aqua, Coco-Caprylate/Caprate, Isopropyl Myristate, Aloe Barbadensis, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glycerin, Glyceryl Monomyristate,  Sodrium Cetostearyl Sulfate, Butyrospermum Parkii, Cetyl Alcohol, Ceteareth-20, Tocopheryl Acetate, Polyquatrnium-10/Hyaluronic Acid, Allantoin, Butylene Glycol, Olea Europaea Leaf Extract, Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract, Propylene Glycol, Bladderwrack (Fucus Vesiculosus) Extract, Sanguisorba Officinalis Root Extract, Cinnamomum Cassia Bark Extract, Zingiber Officinale Root Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben, Parfum, Limonene, Geraniol, Hexyl Cinnamal, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Citronellol, Linalool, Hydroxymethylpentylcyclohexencarboxaldehyde.

Price:

16.20 € on sale, maybe around 30 € usually?

Bought from:

Feelunique

Buy again?

Maybe? On sale.

Thoughts:

* No SPF so it's his night cream now

I like how stylish the red box + tube are, he didn't care much :D

* Faint mojito smell

* Haven't noticed big changes in his skin, however it seems very soft and moisturized, more than with Bulldog for example

Very smooth concistency, immediately starts to absorb

* Quite expensive in my opinion (if full price) but seems to be pleasant to use

Lumene Blueberry Curl Waterproof Mascara Review DISCONTINUED

Ingredients:

A mystery! Didn't take photos. Super old product.

I try to mark the sunscreen ingredients in red and other possible irritants in lilac. Ingredients thought to be good and useful for skin I mark green.  Learning as I go, google is my friend etc...

Thoughts:

Extremely difficult to remove, needed baby oil, no normal make up remover worked. Took a long time to get if off

Could start to irritate eyes at the end of the day, also if used several days in a row. When it got painful, it was really painful

- I think I always lost some eyelashes when wearing this mascara a lot, maybe it was the cleansing process that I was too harsh with...

One of the best mascaras I've used, or maybe time has made my memory fuzzy... at least one of the most waterproof

This mascara was truly WATERPROOF, I went to swim, to shower, to sauna with it and the bugger didn't budge

The brush was precise, I loved it's shape and plasticness

Very pigmented

The result was truly longer and thicker eyelashes, someone asked me if I had falsies one day!

* So annoyed I didn't realize to take picture of the ingredient list when I threw away the old mascara I found lying around. (What do you mean I clean my stash too rarely... this mascara was probably five years old or something! No, I did not use it anymore!)

Apparently, Blueberry Wild Curl Waterproof was the reformulation of Blueberry Curl Waterproof, now Lumene has Nordic Chic Full-On Curl Waterproof that is close to the discontinued Blueberry mascara... (I'm not old but I feel too old to follow all the reformulations and then get sad when I can't find my old favorites anymore at the store. Then I buy nothing.)

I will copy-paste the ingredient list of the new Nordic Chic Mascara here if it resembles even a little bit the original Blueberry ones for future reference (like what is causing the eye irritation): ISODODECANE, PARAFFIN, CERA ALBA (BEESWAX), DISTEARDIMONIUM HECTORITE, TRIMETHYLSILOXYSILICATE, VP/EICOSENE COPOLYMER, TALC, C12-16 ALCOHOLS, POLYBUTENE, COPERNICIA CERIFERA CERA (COPERNICIA CERIFERA (CARNAUBA) WAX), TRIHYDROXYSTEARIN, HYDROGENATED TETRADECENYL/METHYLPENTADECENE, PHENOXYETHANOL, LECITHIN, PALMITIC ACID, TOCOPHEROL, (CI 77499) IRON OXIDES.

Price:

About 15-17 €?

Bought from:

Grocery stores, Citymarket probably

Buy again?

Discontinued. A long time ago.

Worth the money?

It was more than I would like to pay for a mascara but I never had to worry that it would smudge and it always looked good. It was not a product for sensitive eyes though.

The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 30 ml Review

Ingredients:

Aqua (Water), Sodium Hyaluronate, Pentylene Glycol, Propanediol, Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer, Panthenol, Ahnfeltia Concinna Extract, Glycerin, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, Citric Acid, Isoceteth-20, Ethoxydiglycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Hexylene Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol.

I try to mark the sunscreen ingredients in red and other possible irritants in lilac. Ingredients thought to be good and useful for skin I mark green.  Learning as I go, google is my friend etc...

Thoughts:

So, so sticky... I'm not the one usually griping on the stickiness of anything but this one is a real winner, especially if combined with other sticky stuff or even water or watery things (essence)

Even the bottle neck gets all slimy and messy because the products sticks to it

I'm questioning the choice of dropper bottle, it just doesn't work well with a thicker serum

- I seem to be unable to use hyaluronic acid products straight to the cleaned skin, they make my skin feel tight or more dry later on, uncomfortable overall (maybe the winter climate here is the culprit)

- I don't want to use this product on its own

If you put too much on, it kind of... peels (bigger pieces) in some places, however it's not as bad or annoying as pilling/balling everywhere

Works miraculously mixed with squalane! Who would have known??? 2 drops of HA mixed with 2-5 drops of squalane and patting it in, the most bouncy, translucent skin! I'm in awe, I tell you. HA is not sticky this way at all, doesn't feel uncomfortable, and squalane sinks in so much better and faster than alone. (And of course my skin is still a bit damp from essence and possibly niacinamide that I just throw on first when my face is still damp from washing.)

HA sinks in fast on its own too

No fragrance

Ever since I started mixing HA + squalane on putting it on my skin at least once a day (some days twice) my acne marks have remarkably lightened

* I was experimenting with hyaluronic acid products for a while and already thought they just weren't for me...

Tried to wet my face, hands before and after putting products but it didn't seem to work that much, at least it wasn't pleasant at all with the stickiness and extra effort

My sister uses Elizavecca's Witch Piggy serum and she likes it a lot and swears that it helped her skin so I was thinking about trying it myself too but I think it has less HA % than The Ordinary one even though it says 97 %? It's just impossible

I've used about 1/4-1/3 of the bottle now and I'm glad I have finally found a way to use it satisfactory. I can't say I enjoy using it though! But the results are very much worth it.

I love squalane on its own too so who knows, maybe most of the effect comes from it... and I just imagine HA does something... maybe I just imagine the marks are lightened... so, this is just my skin and my observations.

I wonder if my skin would like the new Marine Hyaluronics from The Ordinary. It's supposed to be less viscous.

Price:

6,80 € / 30 ml

Bought from:

The Ordinary webstore

Buy again?

Maybe. Might explore other Hyaluronic Acid serums/products first.

Worth the money?

It's not really enjoyable to use and I need to mix it with something else. But. It is affordable. I reckon one bottle will last me almost six months. Also the results are quite amazing if they will continue! I did regret buying this serum earlier, not anymore.

Nivea Lip Butter Original & Raspberry Rose 16,7 g / 19 ml Review

Ingredients:

Original

Cera Microcristallina, Paraffinum Liquidum, Polyglyceryl-3 Diisostearate, Butyrospermum Parkii Butter, Ricinus Communis Seed Oil, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil, Aqua, Glycerin, Glyceryl Glucoside, BHT, CI 77891

Raspberry Rose

Cera Microcristallina, Paraffinum Liquidum, Polyglyceryl-3 Diisostearate, Butyrospermum Parkii Butter, Ricinus Communis Seed Oil, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil, Aqua, Glycerin, Glyceryl Glucoside, BHT, Aroma, CI 77891, CI 15850

I try to mark the sunscreen ingredients in red and other possible irritants in lilac. Ingredients thought to be good and useful for skin I mark green.  Learning as I go, google is my friend etc...

Thoughts:

Unhygienic because have to dip fingers into product

The Raspberry Rose one is not pleasant to use in the evening before bed because it has a bit sickly smell, also for day it doesn't even tint lips even though it has this pink color

I don't think they are that moisturizing, they are good for slightly dry lips for a moment, but the effect goes away quite soon and lips don't stay moisturized/soft after that (but they are not painfully dry anymore)

Actually a lip balm that didn't seem to make my lips dry in the long run! Quite many do with frequent use and even right after you apply them

Nice, soft, smooth

The tins are cute, I'll give them that!

They are easy to carry around, the size and shape are nice for pockets

* These lip butters are good but not irreplaceable, anyway they're not for cracked lips, then you need something more heavy duty like Bepanthen.

I think the Raspberry Rose one I regret buying, because it's scented and colored I can't even use it for hand/nail balm because I don't want to swim in that smell. Original version works for that very well!

The question is really, maybe I could just use vaselin instead of these? Lately, or actually for a while, I've used L'Occitane's Shea Butter and it's been excellent, I quite enjoy its thickness more than these Lip Butters that are thinner

Price:

Maybe about 4 € / 19 ml

Bought from:

Grocery store

Buy again?

Might be discontinued? If not, the original version maybe, depending what it really cost. Raspberry Rose, no.

Worth the money?

I think they cost a bit more than I would have liked for lip balms but as you can see I still haven't even finished them so they last a long time. Or maybe they last a long time because I still rather went for Bepanthen.
