Peripera Ink Velvet #6 Celeb Deep Rose, #5 Elf Light Rose, #8 Glimpse Brick Brown 8 g Review

Ingredients:

Peri's Ink Velvet:

Dimethicone, Dimethicone/vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Water, Cyclopentasiloxane, Polyglyceryl-2 Triisostearate, Glycerin, Red 7 (Ci 15850:1), Pentylene Glycol, Cetyl Peg/ppg-10/1 Dimethicone, Butyl Acrylate/hydroxypropyl Dimethicone Acrylate Copolymer, Methyl Trimethicone, Red 28 (Ci 45410), Phenoxyethanol, Red 6 (Ci 15850), Mica(Ci 77019), Silica, Caprylyl Glycol, Glyceryl Acrylate/acrylic Acid Copolymer, 1,2-hexanediol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Propanediol, Yellow 6 (Ci 15985), Fragrance, Peg/ppg-18/18 Dimethicone , Illicium Verum Fruit Extract, Red 33 (Ci 17200), Silica Dimethyl Silylate, Blue 1 (Ci 42090), Methicone.

Airy Ink Velvet (Can't find full ingredient list if this isn't it):

Dimethicone, Cyclopentasiloxane, Polyglyceryl-2 triisostearate, Titanium Dioxide, 1, 2-Hexanediol, Ferric Oxide, Red 28 Lake, Cyclotetrasiloxane, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance, Tocopheryl Acetate, “C.I. 45410:1”, Camellia Sinensis Seed Oil, Cottonseed Oil, Mango Seed Oil.

I try to mark the sunscreen ingredients in red and other possible irritants in lilac. Ingredients thought to be good and useful for skin I mark green.  Learning as I go, google is my friend etc...

Thoughts:

Peripera lip tints are drying on my lips so there's no way I could wear one without moisturizing my lips before and after. But, I haven't noticed my lips flaking much without, just painfully dry. (With Tonymoly Shocking Lip my lips would flake, definitely.)

A lot of the shades from Peripera lines are just way too pink for me! Also the promo pictures don't really show the shades as they are in real life.

- Also, after they've been on my lips for maybe 3-4 hrs, they start to fade pink. And that's not very flattering look on me so I must do some touch up. I can't say I would have noticed much difference between Peri's Ink and Airy Ink tints, even though original Peri's Ink is supposed to be more long lasting.

- The tints don't last through eating, especially if the food is greasy. Drinking is ok.

Good lip tints for beginners! So much easier to apply than the Tonymoly one I also bought. Applying is fast, the applicator is a good shape and size.

Creamy but light consistency that gives time to work it evenly before it dries. And they set nicely and smoothly on my lips, kind of naturally and even I manage to get the edges of lips look ok. Almost like blurred.

Even if you lick your lips, eat, drink, the tints don't turn out ugly or patchy or run over the lip lines... they just fade (pinkish).

They last for about 3-6 hours on my lips if I don't eat.

Glimpse brick brown is the perfect MLBB color! I would definitely recommend it for warm skintones.

Not a huge fan of their candy/berry smell and taste, but it fades quickly. Not a bad or disturbing smell.

Glimpse Brick Brown is definitely my favourite for the daily, MLBB lip colour. Elf Light Rose doesn't look super pink here as a swatch, but on my lips it sadly turns very pink. Even Celeb Deep Rose is pinkish on me.

* I've never been a lipstick person. I've felt lip products are a waste of time and money because they just get messy and never stay put... how do some people do them? When I've tried lipsticks they're gone within a hour or just ugly patchy.

I got two Ink Airy Velvet Liptints and one Ink Velvet. The ink velvet in color Celeb Deep Rose, and the Ink Airy Velvets in Glimpse Brick Brown and Elf Light Rose. This was a long time ago and now that I googled, Peripera has already upgraded their tints. The new packaging looks good. The new shades do as well. Maybe they have upgraded the formula to more long lasting/less drying? I'd like to test them!

I like more brown beige shades, they are more natural on me I feel. Usually the reds turn very pink on me? Just like foundations look easily too orange.

Price:

6.94 USD / 8 g

Bought from:

Roseroseshop on ebay

Buy again?

Maybe! Very likely some other shades.

Worth the money?

The price point and quality do meet with Peripera's tints. There are a lot of color choices if you like pink lips or you are cool toned. However warm toned people should probably be careful. But some new more orange-brown shades from Peripera do look like something I might get. The tints are drying and don't last all day but they are also easy to apply and re-apply. Also they seem to fade quite evenly so the look is not too messy even though you can't re-apply during the day.

Tonymoly Perfect Lips Shocking Lip #2 Red 7g Review

Ingredients:

List off yesstyle, don't know if real:

Water, Octyldodecanol, Butylene Glycol, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glycerin, Ethylcellulose, Sodium Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Pentylene Glycol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Alcohol, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance, Hydroxypropyl Guar, Sorbitan Stearate, Benzophenone-9, Laureth-8, Disodium EDTA, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Argania Spinosa (Argan) Kernel Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Ascorbic Acid, Rosa Canina (Dog Rose) Fruit Extract, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Extract, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Sodium Hyaluronate, Red 33 Lake (CI 17200), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Polyglyceryl-2 Triisostearate, Hydrogenated Polydecene, Caprylyl Glycol, Red 2 (CI 16185), Yellow 5 Lake (CI 19140), Red 27 (CI 45410:1), Yellow 6 Lake (CI 15985), Red 28 Lake (CI 45410), Red 40 Lake (CI 16035), Orange 4 (CI 15510), Ethylhexylglycerin, Hydroxyacetophenone, Blue 1 Lake (CI 42090), Hydrogenated Didecene, 1,2-Hexanediol, Dipropylene Glycol.

I try to mark the sunscreen ingredients in red and other possible irritants in lilac. Ingredients thought to be good and useful for skin I mark green.  Learning as I go, google is my friend etc...

Thoughts:

Color is very vivid RED when it comes out of the tube and this shade is not an everyday shade I could just throw on! I do prefer more muted shades.

- Very difficult for a beginner to spread evenly, watery/thin consistency, and the foot is either a bit big or shaped so that it doesn't feel natural to use.

- Dries so fast you barely have any time to try to fade it or fix errors. The tint might turn uneven.

If you are like me and sometimes want to pat lip product in with fingers, it's not a good idea with this lip tint (probably never with tints anyway?). It will color your finger for the whole day. Sticks to finger better than to lips! So I need tools like q-tips for that.

- Also dries out my lips. But this is normal for me. Ah, the trade offs for the lasting power... But I definitely can't wear this lip tint without moisturizing my lips before and after and during the day.

Dries fast so once it's done, it doesn't make a mess anymore and you can add lip balm/other things on top without waiting.

When the product has tinted your lips properly, it surely isn't going anywhere for a couple of hours. Even in your inner lips. I tried wiping with paper, cotton swap, lip balm, fingers. Now that was impressive. After the first hours it does start fading from inner lips and starts to look dry on the outer lips.

Smells lightly like berries. It's not strong or off putting at all, still not my favourite. But not bad.

Neutral red shade that I could see suiting the most. Or at least, it turns out neutral next to my warm skin. The tint does turn pinkish however at some point.

Lasts somewhat through eating as well as long as food is not greasy. Drinking is no problem. I feel I have to touch up my lips after 4-6 hours because of the inner lip fading and outer lip flaking with dryness. But after doing touch up once during the day, the tint seems to last long to the night.

Very pigmented and can be layered.

* This was my first lip tint ever so my point of view is is drastically different from someone who knows what they are doing. I don't usually even wear a lipstick because it's such an extra hassle. Nothing ever stays on my lips. And my lips are so dry that nothing usually looks good.

I bought this Tonymoly lip tint for experimenting. I had no idea what to expect, some people talked online how they found it long lasting so I just threw it in my cart. I've had this tint now for a while and even though it probably has expired or close to it, it hasn't changed consistency, smell or lasting power.

Compared to Peripera tints Tonymoly Shocking Lip is harder to blend, dries quicker, and more watery. Peripera Airy Velvet Tints are creamier and more beginner friendly but they don't last/dry so well as Shocking Lip.

Buy again?

No. Not the same shade (red) at least.

Worth the money?

I don't think this is a beginner item. At least not for a lip product novice like me. But, I am very impressed by the lasting power once you get over all the other obstacles. All the shades from Shocking Lip range seem to be quite vivid and harsh, but I think that's to do with the formula to make the tint last. I do not feel like I wasted money but I also do not love this product, maybe because of the difficult shade, drying out my lips and the effort I have to put into making it look good. (I am tempted by the orange/coral shades, however. But I'd get them only if the price goes down to 4-5 dollars.)

Tosowoong Pink Natural Sun Block SPF 35 PA++ 30 ml Review

Ingredients:

Water, Cyclopentasiloxane, Propanediol, Zinc Oxide, Cyclohexasiloxane, Cyclomethicone, Titanium Dioxide, Glycerin, Calamine, PEG-10 Dimethicone, lauryl peg-10 tris(trimethylsiloxy)silylethyl dimethicone (?),  Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 Dimethinone, Silica, Sodium Chloride, Lauryl PEG-9 Polydimethylsiloxyethyl Dimethicone, Sorbitan Olivate, Hydrogen Dimethicone, Synthetic Wax, Potassium Sorbate, 1,2- Hexanediol, Fragrance, Disodium EDTA, Caprylhydroxamic acid, Butylene Glycol, Dimethicone, Tulipa Darwin Flower Extract, Rosa Centifolia Flower Extract, Impatiens Balsamina Flower Extract, Paeonia Suffruticosa Flower Water, Camellia Japonica Flower Extract, Bellis Perennis Flower Extract, Portulaca Grandiflora Extract, Geranium Maculatum Extract, Prunus Persica Flower Extract, Dicentra Spectabilis Flower Extract, Papaver Rhoeas Flower Extract.

I try to mark the sunscreen ingredients in red and other possible irritants in lilac. Ingredients thought to be good and useful for skin I mark green.  Learning as I go, google is my friend etc...

Thoughts:

Incredibly pore clogging sun cream, only from two days of wearing it! After that, I didn't touch it. I concentrated on healing my skin.

Also incredibly white. The most horrible white cast I have experienced up to date.

Such a pain to try to wash off, too. I feel like you could apply it and it would stay on for 3 days straight. Waterproof, definitely.

- Not the easiest to spread, a bit thick. But not necessarily unpleasant.

- Very strong floral scent, it will linger all day. But it's not a bad fragrance, just way too strong.

Waterproofness is also a good thing, as a hand cream/protector. You can freely wash your hands during the day. This stuff is going nowhere.

The tube is pink and way too cute and lured me into buying it! Cute small size too to carry in a purse.

The sunscreen promises matte finish and sebum control and it does it well.

* I bought this sunscreen in 2017 when I was just buying random things to see if I liked anything. And also I thought that it couldn't be bad, it's a physical sunscreen and has calming ingredients, yay?

I'm currently using Pink Natural Sun Block on top of my hands. It's still incredibly white so I don't think it has lost it's efficacy. The cream comes out pink from the tube so you would think it would have a pinkish hue when on face/hands, but it turns just white.

The sun cream contains a lot of plant extracts so better be careful if you are allergic to something or you have sensitive skin. I don't remember getting any straight out irritation during those two days, but there was something in it or it was just the consistency of the cream that my skin really didn't like.

About 11 USD

Buy again?

Definitely no.

Worth the money?

No, not for me. I don't really know who would want to buy Tosowoong's Pink Natural Sun Block on purpose. Unless you are super white (we are talking paper white here), want a sunscreen that is impossible to wash off, really really like floral fragrance and your skin is absolutely perfect and you never get acne.

Kicks Beauty Deep Cleansing Oil 150 ml Review

Ingredients:

Canola Oil, Sorbitan Troleate, Polysorbate 85, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil, Parfum.

I try to mark the sunscreen ingredients in red and other possible irritants in lilac. Ingredients thought to be good and useful for skin I mark green.  Learning as I go, google is my friend etc...

Thoughts:

I haven't noticed much (barely at all) grits coming out compared to other cleansing oils I've used. Kicks cleansing oil is more like a makeup remover, not really deep cleansing, in my opinion.

Scent is not bad (fake fruity), just not something I prefer, quite strong too.

The short nozzle is a little funny, you really have to pick up the bottle to dispense the product to your palm. With other cleansing oils the nozzle is so long that you don't have to.

Emulsifies beautifully, instantly almost and is easy to wash off. Maybe leaves a slight residue when the makeup/sunscreen is stubborn but really not otherwise.

Sturdy bottle.

Not drying, not pore clogging, not irritating. Short ingredient list.

Removes makeup well. As well as any other cleansing oil at least. I don't think there's usually much difference.

* Kicks was having a -50% sale on Kicks Beauty in the beginning of this year and I thought it was a perfect opportunity to try new stuff. I am impressed. Kicks Beauty seems to actually have good products. I do have a wish list waiting in case they have another sale. :)

I usually take 3 pumps of product. The oil is thicker than other (Korean) cleansing oils I've used, but it doesn't feel as oily, slippery. It also doesn't emulsify so strongly either. It just washes off.

From the very first time I tried this cleansing oil, I knew I would like it despite all the other possible negatives: it washes off so beautifully and fast, I can use it, no matter how tired or drunk I am. Or maybe I'm desperate to find a replacement for Tosowoong's Apricot Cleansing Oil that I believe is discontinued...

I've been using now Kicks Beauty Cleansing Oil for about two months, I believe it will last me for a while (wild guess: 6-8 months) because I'm alternating between different oils. It's in an opaque bottle so it's impossible to see how much there is left. But I think the bottle also protects the product because no light gets in.

Price:

15,90 € / 150 ml

Bought from:

Kicks

Buy again?

Maybe (yes?). But I'm going to wait for a sale.

Worth the money?

Yes, I believe so, especially if there's a sale going on. It's not bad when full price either, but this cleansing oil is not perfect and when something already costs 16 €, in my own little mind I go "hmm... I might as well buy something that is 20+ € that is hopefully more luxurious or at least smells better". But, Kicks Beauty's Deep Cleansing Oil is a good basic cleansing oil and it does well in the most important parts, it takes off makeup gently and washes off immediately.

Every two weeks or so:
Nizoral Shampoo

I also use a pile of other products when I feel like it! Most of them something I just want to finish (= hate pan) or something I forget and rediscover from my stash. Usually though I try to avoid unnecessary additions or use them only a couple of times a week.

I have probably forgot to photograph something too and some products are ending soon/expired so I'm unsure how my routine is going to change... but I'll update later. Maybe. I have included foundations, powders and hair care because they affect my skin condition as well.

Other thoughts:

I feel the more I learn about skincare and the more I test products, the more I understand that it is the "heavy hitters" that matter. But the point is to find the hitters that suit my needs. For someone their heavy hitter might be a hydrating product, for someone else an exfoliating one... Also, more is not always more... For me, Skinoren and Differin have truly changed my skin (and squalane and rose hip seed oils and PHA/Niacinamide products). Also Nizoral, anti-dandruff shampoos and scalp scrubs.

I don't follow a strict routine, I change up things day top day depending how I feel. If my skin feels extra dry, I put more moisturizing products and skip drying treatments. If my skin looks extra congested, I might use a scrub. If I'm in a hurry, I use less products... Sometimes I use something in the morning, then move it to the evening if I change up my foundation and the products don't agree. Etc.

It is all about balance for me. I can finally tell when my skin is in balance. For me, skincare is more than what I put on my face. My acne seems to be heavily hormonal related as well. Keeping my weight in balance, exercising regularly both leisurely and hard, eating regularly and a lot of vegetables, sleeping enough, balancing my stress levels... as boring as that is. And my skin goes sometimes all whacky anyway, but usually it gets better when I treat my acne more like fungal acne and/or my health gets better (it's been up and down lately). Also all this business with "dehydrated skin makes your skin oily" is not the case with me. My skin is plain old boring combination skin, meaning my dry cheeks are lacking oil, not water and my T-zone does whatever it wants.

Shopping - A Bit of This and That

My Beautynetkorea haul. Total was about 20 USD including shipping, because I happened to have almost 9 USD of credit points. I think it's a decent price for being able to try so many new products. I had a lot more samples in my cart originally though... might order them later on.

Banila Co Clean It Zero Special Duo #Original and #Purifying

I have wanted to try these cult favorites for a while... but now I actually had a reason to buy them. Good small sizes and solid consistency to carry while travelling. I tried the Original cleansing balm already and was surprised how nicely it melts. Such a cute and sturdy packaging as well for a sample set. I really like Banila Co's aesthetic overall.

Tonymoly Back Gel Eyeliner Long Brush Color #7 Latte Brown

I really like the light brown shade. So subtle, yet gives the awake look. Easy to apply with the brush but I would say that the gel feels a bit dry. If I put any liner in the morning, it is usually this one now, because I can't badly mess it up!

Laneige Water Sleeping Mask Sample

Laneige Cica Sleeping  Mask Sample

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask Sample

Repurchased Water Sleeping Mask and also wanted to try the other sleeping masks from Laneige. So far I've tried the lip mask but I don't know... it is a cult favorite but I'm not too impressed. Maybe because I don't like the bubble gum scent. But it does help with dry lips, nothing amazing though.

DAENG GI MEO RI Shampoo For Oily Scalp Sample

I thought again about travelling when choosing these. I couldn't find a full size bottle for sale, so I'm guessing the product has been discontinued.

Missha Perfect Cover B.B Cream Line Friends Edition Color #23 Natural Beige

I had earlier, long time ago actually, purchased #21 Light Beige and it was clogging my skin and was too light/grey anyway. So I forgot it. But I tried it again after starting to use Skinoren, and it was ok. Still slightly clogging but if I don't use it everyday, it's alright. Perfect Cover BB Cream has so much good things going on for it so I'm willing to compromise. Good for my oily T-zone and the shade #23 is quite perfect, greyish brown that disappears in despite it looking very dark in the beginning. Zero orange, pink or yellow hue! :)

Purito Snail All In One BB Cleanser Sample

Again, for travelling, but also wanted to check out this cleanser anyway. People talk about Purito's products a lot.

Eyenlip Salmon&Peptide Nutrition Neck Cream Sample (Gift)

Everything was packaged well with bubble wrap (I had already removed some before taking the photo to see the contents). Eyenlip's Neck Cream samples were a gift. The order came in two weeks, I chose the shipping option without tracking.

Also, my Jolse "haul", only two things that were on sale... Total was about 19 USD. Honestly I didn't need these but both were something I had looked at several times before. Super nice amount of samples! I'm the most excited about the CNP Laboratory ones.

Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Water Essence

I have wanted to try something from Isntree for a while, and I have several times looked at this essence. It includes of course hyaluronic acid, but also prickly pear seed oil, niacinamide, betaine, etc... it also has butylene glycol that I might be sensitive to when there's a lot of it but it's listed quite late in the ingredients list. The bottle is very thick glass and feels heavy and luxurious.

Etude House Blend For Eyes Color #02 Orange Party

I don't really understand why this palette looks different from the photos. There should have been an orange shade, but it's red! The 3 other shades are like advertised. The palette is even called ORANGE party but it's missing the orange. I'm a little bothered but the palette was cheap and the shades are still pretty and I think they suit me. The palette is easy to work with, too. I get a nicely (=good enough) blended look within minutes even though I'm not good with eyeshadows! But I have to find my orange kick from somewhere else. Bleh.

A pile of samples (Gift)

Everything was bubble wrapped very well and there were a lot of samples, and of course the usual blotting papers Jolse gives out. The order came in two weeks and I had again chosen the shipping method without tracking.

Differin Gel 0.1 %

I have almost finished one tube (they are only 15 g) and I definitely wanted to repurchase! I don't even think it's drying, but I don't use it every evening. Alternating between Differin and Skinoren has really made a difference to my skin. Skinoren helps overall with sensitivity and bigger pimples and balancing my skin, Differin seems to smooth my skin and help with smaller stuff, like stubborn closed comedones that I've had for months.

Skinoren Cream 20 %

I actually happen to have 3 new tubes of Skinoren so I'm all set for a year! I ordered two from New Zealand, Eclipse Pharmacy. I don't even know how I ended up on their website. But, I would recommend them, great customer service, great packaging, fast shipping.

EDIT:
I just love this Rose Leopard Palette even though I haven't even seen it in real life yet. Maybe it played some part in making that BYOP order...

Colourpop Build You Own Palette: Rose Leopard Small Palette 12 Shadows

Okay, so my need for orange stuff was strong and I had played with Colourpop BYOP options earlier but never pulled the trigger because I felt like I never managed to put together the perfect palette. Now I took hours searching for swatches and finally felt like, this is it. I'm really excited and I hope to receive my palette soon. I'm aware everything still might not suit me, but I can easily replace those shades later. I ordered the next shadows: You Got It, In Frequency, Martian, Koi, Criss Cross, Cut-Outs, Running Late, Side Tracked, Bratty, Bump This, Wait For It and Wake Up Call.

Skin Treat Pure Clarity Shower Peeling

Skin Treat Multi Action AHA & PHA Rinse Off Peeling

Budgie Apple Cider Scrub

Also forgot to include these, Kicks had -50 % sale on Skin Treat (and -20 % on Budgie) and I asked my mom to shop for me a little again! I will see which ones she ends up keeping herself and which I will take. She tried the Apple Cider Scrub already and said that it works amazingly and she's going to buy another tube.
