Bioeffect EGF Serum Mini 5 ml Review

Ingredients:

Glycerin, Aqua, Sodium Hyaluronate, Tromethamine, Sodium Chloride, Horderum Vulgare Seed Extract, EGF (Transgenic Barley SH-Oligopeptide-1).

I try to mark the sunscreen ingredients in red and other possible irritants in lilac. Ingredients thought to be good and useful for skin I mark green.  Learning as I go, google is my friend etc...

Thoughts:

Price is insane (when you are poor at least...)

Surprisingly moisturizing alone despite being almost watery, slightly tacky serum. It was enough for me alone usually (combination skin) even though the couple of first days I really would have wanted to add something on top, maybe out of habit.

Absorbs fast, almost immediately. Leaves skin smooth, but slightly tacky. The smooth feeling stays.

Doesn't affect any products on top (I tried the serum under makeup twice too).

Next is just how I feel/see it: I think my forehead lines have diminished, I can see only 1 line now (not that my situation was bad to begin with but you know), I think my pores look more refined next to my nose, my dark under eyes look less dark and my cheeks feel bouncy/tight.

No fragrance, no scent.

In the morning, my skin always looks good. Whatever is this sorcery, I may never know. Maybe because the serum has minimal ingredients and just doesn't include anything my skin doesn't like.

A little goes a long way, especially when applied to a slightly damp skin

* I have mixed feelings of Bioeffect's EGF Serum! I never would have bought this one myself, I just think it's slightly ridiculous to pay over 100 € for 15 ml of serum when the effects are probably hardly noticeable. That being said, now that I have used the 5 ml mini size, I actually do notice a difference! Unless I just imagine it. Even if the EGF extract does nothing, at least the product is a great serum.

I have used EGF Serum as instructed, in the evening, to a clean skin 4 small drops (didn't use any toners either) and used nothing on top. Except I waited 5-10 minutes to apply eye cream.

5 ml mini size lasted me about 2-3 months, used every other day or sometimes daily in the evening.

I have been reading now other reviews of EGF Serum, and it seems, everyone has their own feelings about it. I was surprised that some people described the serum "heavy" and "only for a super dry skin" and "never absorbed" and "oily". Others saw changes, others didn't. Mostly people didn't think it was worth it. Someone said it was the best as a booster once in a while. And of course, a lot of discussion if  EGF is even safe to put on skin, if it causes cancer, or, the molecules are just too big to absorb deep enough to do something topically.

Price:

100-135 € / 15 ml full size

Value of the small bottle (not for sale individually) 33-45 € / 5 ml

Bought from:

Got in Lookfantastic Advent Calendar 2019

Buy again?

Likely when I am older or in the next couple of years - or if I run into a really good sale.

Worth the money?

The price feels insane indeed for someone who's not rich (cough, me, cough) and not really into skincare. But I must admit that based on the 5 ml mini size I used during 2-3 months, it is really, really good serum (and basically all in one for me for the evening). I am not an expert so I have no idea if the EGF actually does anything in skincare setting or if it is even safe in the end (the plant based one should be though if you don't already have a possible skin cancer that could grow?), also I am still a bit too young to see any serious results even if it miraculously would suddenly do something in 2-3 months! However, when I stopped using the serum for several days and replaced it with something else I always noticed difference in my skin.

Lumene Classics Micellar Cleansing Water 200 ml Review

Ingredients:

AQUA (WATER), BUTYLENE GLYCOL, POLOXAMER 184, ERIOPHORUM SPISSUM (NORDIC COTTONGRASS) FLOWER/STEM EXTRACT, PHENOXYETHANOL, GLYCERIN, PROPANEDIOL, DISODIUM EDTA, POLYSORBATE 20, ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN, ALLANTOIN, POTASSIUM SORBATE, SORBIC ACID, SODIUM HYDROXIDE.

I try to mark the sunscreen ingredients in red and other possible irritants in lilac. Ingredients thought to be good and useful for skin I mark green.  Learning as I go, google is my friend etc...

Thoughts:

Not super good for removing mascara (but micellar waters rarely are, I prefer oil)

Nothing special - not hydrating, not calming, no extra effects, like acne fighting

First things first: doesn't leave skin as "sticky" as Garnier Micellar Water, finish feels a lot nicer.

Removes most of the makeup, but I usually use micellar waters like toners for finishing or just for refreshing during the day so can't comment more on that.

Fresh scent, doesn't linger, not too strong.

Affordable

Easy to get (for me)

No irritation

* I bought my first bottle of Lumene's market series Classics/Klassikko Cleansing Water during a trip simply because I had forgotten my Garnier bottle at home and this one seemed simple enough and the bottle wasn't too big to lug around. I lost my first bottle but liked the product enough to buy another, and later found my first bottle as well.

I must admit there is not all that much to say about this micellar water - it is micellar water. It works as well as they usually do. I don't use micellar waters primarily to remove makeup and I do prefer oil cleansing, it helps to keep my skin unclogged better and is more gentle.

Price:

5 € / 200 ml

Buy again?

Maybe? Not against it. I did repurchase once already, after all!

Worth the money?

Yeah, Lumene's Classic series Micellar Cleansing Water is nice and basic for a nice and basic price.

Filorga Meso-Mask Anti-Wrinkle Lightening Mask 15 ml Mini Review

Thoughts:

Dried quite quickly, in 10 minutes (did I apply too little? you are supposed to have the mask on for 15-30 minutes) when it started to feel drying on skin, it did feel moisturizing again when I used a mist on top to get the mask wet again

I must admit I never noticed anything special right after using the mask or the next day, my skin wasn't radiant or luminous or revived or...

I thought my skin would have felt extra hydrated afterwards but it didn't, definitely needed the usual hydration steps

- I also didn't notice any difference in my "wrinkles" = fine lines (too young to belong in the target group?)

Feels very moist and hydrating when just applied to face, funny feeling, very nice especially on eye contour

My skin did look even and maybe slightly smoothed out afterwards but it had been ok even before the mask, no irritation

Mask is easy and pleasant to use, easy to spread evenly because it is very soft and creamy

Very slight, expensive feeling scent

I like that there's less waste compared to masks with single packaging (sheet masks etc) and the fit is obviously better and more comfortable!

* I got this mask from Lookfantastic Advent Calendar 2019. My first Filorga product, even though I've been interested in them for a while. The price has effectively prevented me from getting them!

15 ml is enough for about 7 uses at least if you use it only on face (not on neck as adviced as well).

I don't think it made any difference how you removed the mask, splashing with water or wiping with a cotton pad like Filorga suggests.

Price:

About 35-45 € / 50 ml

Buy again?

For the entertainment factor maybe, if it comes in this mini size or in a cheap bundle! Otherwise no.

Worth the money?

Filorga's Meso-Mask sure is entertaining and pleasant to use but I must say it is too pricy for me considering it doesn't do very much after all so it is just for fun. If hydration is what you're after once in a while, even a cheap sheet mask provides the results... but it is more environmentally friendly to do other kind of masks but I do masks rarely. Anyway I think I am too young to belong in the target group (in my 30s).

Shopping from June to July

My shopping from June to July so 2 months (posting already despite 1 week left of this month because I am absolutely not going to shop more now). Altogether about 180 €. I got carried away... but I did find some new things I really liked too. 5 repurchases/backups, 5 other things I needed, and the rest 11 impulse/pleasure purchases (but of course mascara, brow gel, foundation and shower gel are not a waste of money but I just didn't really have a need for new ones right now!).

NYX Sweet Cheeks Creamy Powder Blush Glowy Citrine Rose

Filorga Set & Kit Kit Lift-Range

Filorga Set & Kit Kit Ncef-Range

I finally wanted to try more Filorga and mini kits are the best way. So far what I tried a couple of them, I am not all that impressed (I thought I would be).

IsaDora Build Up Mascara Extra Volume Waterproof Mini

Isadora's mascaras are ok and I had this one before and liked it! It is super cheap mini, I believe being discontinued.

Absolut Torr Roll On

I think I tried Absolut Torr (Absolut Dry outside nordic countries apparently) antiperspirant a long, long time ago (along other super strong ones). I saw it's available as a roll on now, and thought maybe I should give it a shot again. I must say it still makes my armpits terribly itchy.

Mavala Mavadry

As for Mavala's Mavadry which is a fast dry product for nail polish, I have been annoyed by slow drying nail polish for ages but haven't had energy to do anything about it. Maybe it really helps! I often ruin my polish before it has properly dried and this should make it dry in 2 minutes. So far I've tried Mavadry with two nailpolishes only and it really did make a difference, it made them very long lasting too (several days without chipping).

Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink Mover 160

Maybelline's Superstay Matte Inks are amazing and Mover is a shade I haven't seen in the store nearby! Maybelline should release more shades I think. Mover is a statement shade for sure, but I really like how I look like a villain with my new black hair and this lipstick on...

NYX Sweet Cheeks Creamy Powder Blush Glowy Citrine Rose

Unfortunately also the NYX blush in glowy Citrine Rose looked like it's a perfect summer shade so I took it. Actually, out of all my blushes currently, Citrine Rose is maybe in the top 3, as it is so flattering on me. It has this perfect balance between looking natural, sophisticated but still a pop of brightness.

This was a little something from Lyko, Scandinavian beauty web store (ships only within Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland) I've never used before and actually didn't even know it existed before googling for Filorga mini kits. Their pricing is overall ok, especially during a sale, and that's what I recommend waiting for. I think everything I bought was -25%. Their website is a little messy (wrong pictures, descriptions here and there, language keeps changing...) but ordering easy. I like the wide selection they have, but many products are out of stock or they offer a limited selection from some brands.

Lyko estimated that they would ship my order in 3 working days. It took 4 days for them to ship so I received my order all in all in 7 working days. Everything was well packaged and they paid extra attention to the blush.

Everything cost 49 € and shipping was free (for over 30 €).

Veet Easy-Gel Wax Strips Normal Skin Body & Legs

Veet Easy-Gel Wax Strips Normal Skin Bikini

I am venturing more into waxing. Shaving every other day is just too bothersome. I can do waxing usually every 2 months so it's way less work and my pain threshold seems to be high (or the wax strips have gotten so much better that they just aren't as painful as 10 years ago).

Garnier Ambre Solaire Sensitive Advanced Face Super UV Fluid SPF 50+

This one was an impulse buy... but I guess it was fine because it is a sunscreen after all and it seems to be good so far! The only thing that has stopped me from using this more is the fact that I still have older sunscreens that I'm finishing off. (Yes, clearly I am not applying sunscreen enough, but whatever. I have other things to worry about.)

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Gel Wash

Cheap great basic cleanser, was also on -30% sale! This is a backup, I keep repurchasing every couple of months so no worries it would be left unused.

Pretty By Flormar Baked Blush in 07 Hot Rose

Apparently this is a Turkish brand? They've been available now for maybe a year here, but I believe they're being phased out from stores because they were -40% and the shelf half empty. Such a shame if that's the case. This blush (or more like blushlighter) I bought is very pretty! It also has glitter (at least on top) as well as being shimmery so maybe not everyone's cup of tea. Weirdly it is not as pink as it looks in the pan when worn. Also I thought the color would be brighter on face, but it is quite muted. Very sheer powdery dry formula. I'll see later how I feel about this formula and shade! Or if I just go back to peach and orange and coral... In any case, this blush has nothing on the NYX blush Citrine Rose I just bought as well. NYX is a straight winner, both in color and formula.

Maybelline Superstay 24h Full Coverage Foundation in 05 Light Beige and 10 Ivory

Maybelline Snapscara Waterproof Mascara

Maybelline Tattoo Brow Waterproof Gel in 01 Blonde

Maybelline was -40% off! I couldn't... resist. I have high hopes for the mascara (will not open it just yet). Also the Tattoo Brow Gel is a good color for me despite it being called blonde, so it is more like blonde-medium. Also, it seems to be long lasting but calling it tattoo/claiming that it lasts two days? Nope!

First I bought the foundation in Ivory but lo and behold, it is very dark to be called ivory and also very orange. The shade selection is very poor! At least what is available in here, I think the situation might be better elsewhere. But because the formula really seems to last so well and is easy to work with, I went and purchased the lightest shade available, Light Beige. It is very light and pink leaning. So calling it beige is so misleading. I think I would name Light Beige as "Marshmallow" and Ivory "Carrot". Anyway, when I mix the two it creates a very nice shade, that actually matches (that I would call just "Light Warm Beige"). The foundation is also very pigmented, so it takes only very little to cover my face and after all the bb creams and more sheer foundations I've been into, I'm strangely delighted how well it covers everything as a thin layer. Btw, I'm well aware I can mix different brand foundations together as well, but generally I feel if I am looking a certain thing (like superstay in this case) it usually affects the formula when you randomly mix. Not always though and depends on the amount! So I should just experiment. And I think it is just what I always have to do, mix my own custom shade if I want a true/close enough match. I just can't stand my base being off.

Sorry about the typo in the pictures. Of course it should read in the middle "10 Ivory + 05 Light Beige".

Ivory seems to oxidize very strongly and look orange, but Light Beige doesn't.
Blended out. Ivory and Light Beige mixed together is quite a nice shade, and I can control if I want a more tanned or pale look. Here I tried to do 50/50 but actually I noticed it is better to put slightly more Light Beige, maybe at 65/35 ratio.

Yves Rocher Lily of the Valley Shower Gel

Yves Rocher Lily of the Valley Eau FraĆ®che

Yves Rocher 48H Non-Stop Moisturizing Rich Cream (free with order)

Yves Rocher Pur Arnica Moisturizing Hand Cream (free with order)

My weakness... lily of the valley. I've never bought anything from YR before even though I always heard about them (good and bad equally!). Then, one day, I just stumbled on their website and almost bought tons of things (several shower gels, shampoo, cleansing oils and raspberry vinegar for hair) but then I really thought about what I wanted and needed, and decided it was the rare scent of muguet. Cost me 32 €.

But, I must say, the fragrance was a waste of money and I recommend not to purchase it. The scent really lasts only for like 5 minutes and I think this is like a body mist that should cost 5-10 €. The shower gel has similar, faint sophisticated scent (but it resembles less lily of the valley than the fragrance), but it is ok for a shower gel and I really like the formula. It cleanses well but feels gentle. Plus the gel costs something like 7 € vs 25 € for the fragrance. I am disappointed, I guess the search for lily of the valley continues. :)

The freebies look interesting! The hand cream has a strong but pleasant scent, I can smell it through the packaging (haven't even opened it yet).

Yves Rocher's website is easy enough to use, but I must say it is ridiculous that after ordering I can't follow my package and I didn't get an email receipt stating what I ordered and for how much. Anyway, after 8 working days from ordering I contacted customer service because I had received nothing even though YR says that the orders are delivered within a week unless something is out of stock currently and they have to wait for it. But then suddenly the next day I did receive my package, so it took only 9 working days overall. Customer service replied within 24 hrs too. So I could order something again if I feel like it.

Differin Adapalene Gel 0.1% x 2

I bet this one is not a surprise! Backups. I try to buy a tube whenever I remember and they are in stock on iherb, because usually the availability is poor. Cost me 40 €. One tube despite being 15 ml can last me anywhere from 2 months to 4, depending how often I apply.

Kilig Double Moisturizing Eye Cream 15 ml Review

Ingredients:

Aqua, Prunus Persica (Peach) Kernel Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glycerin, Polyglyceryl-3 Dicitrate/Stearate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Tapioca Starch Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hedera Helix (Ivy) Extract, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract, Arnica Montana Flower Extract, Hypericum Perforatum Extract, Aesculus Hippocastanum (Horse Chestnut ) Seed Extract, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Leaf Extract, Panthenol, Dimethicone, Xanthan Gum, Tocopherol, Lecithin, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Glyceryl Stearate, Glyceryl Oleate, Citric Acid, Propylene Glycol, Parfum, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin.

I try to mark the sunscreen ingredients in red and other possible irritants in lilac. Ingredients thought to be good and useful for skin I mark green.  Learning as I go, google is my friend etc...

Thoughts:

Started to irritate my eyes after using for 2-3 days in a row; itching, small bumps on my eyelids/under eyes, redness. Went away when I stopped using, everytime seemed to come back after 2-3 days of use. Less irritation when used only once in a while.

Not very moisturizing, surprisinly! My under eye wrinkles got more pronounced and I felt tigthness and after a couple of days had to put Bepanthen (panthenol ointment) under my eyes to calm them.

Didn't notice any effect on my dark under eyes etc but it is ok as it doesn't even promise to do anything else than hydration.

Packaging is really easy to use and clean, hygienic pump bottle. You can get an exact amount of product.

No scent. (But does include parfum in case you are against it.)

Absorbs really well, like a light lotion cream, doesn't tug skin. Works well with make up.

Was really affordable in Lithuania (all products from Kilig are, plus they were on sale when I was there)

Ok, the packaging and brand image are also very cute and eye catching!

* So disappointed this eye cream didn't work for me, and I'm almost certain it is some slight allergic irritation towards something. Maybe witch hazel? Or just peach kernel oil? I wish I knew! I don't really know my allergies, the only things I've ever gotten reactions to was probably birch pollen (a very bad pollen spring) and maybe fresh pineapple, but it is only itchiness on hands/mouth and nothing serious.

I have been hesitant to chuck out Kilig eye cream, just hoping I could somehow use it, because I know no one who I could give it to. It doesn't give me an instant rash or burn, so everytime I keep trying again and again if I could use it anyway. Well, I guess I'll let it hang around for a couple of months and hopefully I've moved on enough to throw it away then.

* I also think maybe the cream just wasn't occlusive enough for me?

Price:

I think about 5 € / 15 ml

Bought from:

Supermarket in Lithuania

Buy again?

No.

Worth the money?

Not for me obviously because Kilig's Double Moisturizing Eye Cream causes reactions. It is not expensive and ingredient wise seems ok, but I just don't know if I would recommend anyone to try it, because I don't feel that it is even that moisturizing/hydrating, and it is exactly what this product's point is: "double power of hyaluronic acid, double hydration, singing in the rain".

Thoughts:

Dries fast, so I have to be fast and layer my lashes in one go. I can't come back to add or fix my other eye a few seconds later (I tend to do that to make my both eyes have the same looking lashes) and this is incredible frustrating when you have to think a simple routine in a different way. It crumbles and creates clumps when you try to add.

Already very dry feeling mascara when I first time opened the tube, my first thought was that it is already expired (and as a person who likes mascara slightly on the drier side - mascaras usually get better for me after they've been opened for a month or so)

When you try to create more volume, everything just clumps and I have to pick the clumps off, I think I need a separate brush to comb my lashes

- I had to layer about 3-4 times to get the results I wanted (and it would still just clump). But I think it's because this mascara doesn't seem to create volume the same way like my usual mascaras and I have thin lashes (a lot of lashes but thin and the tips are very light)

- Crumbles after 4-8 hours of wear, sometimes more, sometimes less, depending on sweating, if I accidentally touch my eye, how I managed to apply it etc.

Dries fast, so the mascara doesn't smudge on eyelids while putting it on, this was interesting (usually I always wipe something off both from lower and upper lids)

Lengthens lashes slightly better than my other mascaras, the effect was noticeable to other people as well

Truly, washes off with warm water, first I thought it wasn't going to work but I had to use a bit warmer water than what I usually use, and it all came off in maybe a minute of gentle rubbing? (I take my time when removing eye makeup, I used to lose lashes when I was younger and impatient!) Very gentle, very convenient! Love!

On a normal day (not much sweating), seems to be smudge free - I did have slight smudging under both eyes after 10 hours when I checked but it wasn't embarrassing amount (but it does crumble though so it is not worry free)

* I had high expectations for this Eyeko Mascara... It came in the Lookfantastic Advent Calendar 2019 and it had gotten some good reviews. It does feel very different from the mascaras I've been using the latest, Isadora Build Up Mascara Extra Volume Waterproof mini (very difficult to wash off but lasts well) and Clinique High Impact Mascara Mini (smudges like crazy).

When my mascara is easier to wash off, I dread washing my face less. This is definitely the biggest advantage of Eyeko mascara. I am looking into tubing mascaras more. For example I could try NYX Professional Makeup Doll Eye Mascara, Clinique Lash Power Mascara Long-Wearing Formula, L’OrĆ©al Paris Voluminous Million Lashes Excess Mascara or DHC Mascara Perfect Pro Double Protection. I already bought Maybelline Snapscara Waterproof on a good sale so I'll test that next.

Buy again?

Maybe? Or some other mascaras from Eyeko if on sale.

Worth the money?

Not a volume mascara in my opinion. Mini size is well worth the cost for me. I don't think a full size is necessary as I don't have any problems with minis and I wouldn't pay almost 25 € for this mascara. Eyeko's Lash Alert Mascara is a good mascara, but is it great? I'm not sure. For everyday use I do like it, because it doesn't destroy my lashes and doesn't smudge all over.
