Rexona Maximum Protection Sport Strength 48h Stick Antiperspirant 45ml Review

Ingredients:

Cyclopentasiloxane, Aluminum Zirconium Tetrachlorohydrex GLY, Dimethicone, Cera Microcrystallina, Paraffin, Parfum, Silica, Sodium Starch Octenylsuccinate, Maltodextrin, Hydrolysed Corn Starch, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, BHT, Alpha–Isomethyl Ionone, Benzyl Alcohol, Benzyl Cinnamate, Benzyl Salicylate, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Cinnamyl Alcohol, Citral, Citronellol, Coumarin, Geraniol, Hexyl Cinnamal, Hydroxycitronellal, Limonene, Linalool.

I try to mark the sunscreen ingredients in red and other possible irritants in lilac. Ingredients thought to be good and useful for skin I mark green.  Learning as I go, google is my friend etc...

Thoughts:

Again, it is always a minus when product promises to do anything and everything and it is just not possible. Doesn't last 48 hrs, doesn't keep me "dry"

Price

Confusing line up and names

Seems to be effective the whole day (10-12 hrs) even though I have been sweating. If no sweating, lasts 24 hrs easily. Wouldn't say 48 hrs though!

I feel my armpits are a bit more dry, there's less sweat production, mayyybe 30% less or so?

Even if I smell a bit in the evening, it is not so "ranchy" or "pungent" and doesn't project, it is more soft sweat and less itchy (I bet everyone loves imagining a horrible sweat smell now)

Scent is ok, very unisex. It lingers the whole day slightly though and feels a bit strong when applied.

When applied, dries fast. I think in 3-5 minutes.

Easy to find in stores nearby.

Interesting way to apply, you twist the roll on the bottom and the cream product comes out through little holes. No waste.

* I've been using Rexona's Maximum Protection Antiperspirant only for about 2 weeks, and before that I tested my other new antiperspirant from Nivea. Nivea Antiperspirant Ultimate Protect 48h seemed to work (after using 1 week) very similarly to Lidl's Cien Men Aqua Antiperspirant. I think it just felt more nice to use because the bottle is glass and the roll is more precise and even scent more feminine and faded faster than Cien Men Aqua, but ultimately they work the same for sweating for me and they even use the same active ingredient (Aluminum Chlorohydrate). Cien is cheaper (about 0,8 € vs Nivea about 2,5 €) and I've been using it for a long time but now I feel like it's not working as well as it used to.

I'm not sure why Rexona has so many different Maximum Protection Antiperspirants with slightly different names, and some of them are cream sticks and some roll-ons - I looked at the ingredient lists and they look the same. So I am concluding, the difference is the scent? They all use Aluminum Zirconium Tetrachlorohydrex GLY as the active ingredient.

I chose Sport Strength blindly, because I didn't have any experience beforehand.

Compared to Cien Men Aqua (and Nivea Ultimate Protect) Rexona is definitely more powerful. It is also definitely more pricy at almost 10 € without any discount.

I just bought Absolut Torr Antiperspirant roll-on (8,6 €), that I haven't seen before. Haven't gotten it yet, but Absolut Torr is famous for helping with sweating, and I might have tried the liquid dabbing form when I was teenager. Absolutely destroyed my armpits though, the mix of strong antiperspirants and treatments I used. But I'm ready to try again.

Price:

9,90 € / 45 ml

Bought from:

Supermarket

Buy again?

Maybe. Can tell better later when I've checked out the competition.

Worth the money?

I am just starting out to test different antiperspirants but I can already say that Rexona's Maximum Protection line is very good, probably best antiperspirant that can be bought in supermarket so far. But it clearly fights in the same ring with pharmacy products with its price and I haven't tried enough pharmacy antiperspirants (like Absolut Torr/TripleDry) right now to say if it is better than them. I hate paying a lot of money for daily basic products that run out fast. But I would say it is worth the price for me right now and if I see it on sale (like -30-50%) I think I am going to grab a couple more!
