Thoughts:

- Apparently not water or sweat resistant because it is not mentioned anywhere so definitely not a summer time sunscreen for hikes!

- Has to be ordered from abroad (customs, shipping etc)



+ Pleasant, soft light white cream/lotion, not a serum consistency at all

+ Absorbs well, like a regular moisturizer almost, can be layered

+ Moisturizing, for me it is not necessary to apply moisturizer underneath.

+ No white cast

+ Light pleasant scent, can't smell it after application anymore.

+ Hasn't irritated my eyes yet but I haven't used it during summer and sweating (also I do not apply near eyes)

+ So far no breakouts or irritation, actually the sunscreen does feel a bit soothing

+ Finish is satin like, natural

+ Hygienic pump bottle, BUT; I had to pump like 30 times before anything came out and I have heard that when the pump system breaks in these sort of bottles it can't be fixed

* I must say I am still thinking about the sunscreen fiasco that happened a while ago with Korean sunscreens. How they didn't match the advertised SPF rating. This can happen with any sunscreens from any countries though. Innisfree is a big "old" brand founded in 2000 by Amore Pacific so I would like to think they follow some protocol that the products are as advertised?

* I am thinking a sunscreen like Innisfree Anti-Aging Serum Sunscreen is something my mom would wear. That's why I am also curious about the protection mentioned, she will definitely not apply the recommended amount on her face, maybe barely 0,5 ml. :)

* I haven't tried this under makeup yet. Not many situation where I want to wear makeup now... I would think it's ok because it doesn't feel like it pills on itself at least!

I think Innisfree Anti-Aging Sunscreen SPF50+ is worth it, especially because I think I can lure people who usually do not use sunscreen to use one with it... For me this is an excellent winter time product. I think it suits many skintypes, even oily, because you can skip moisturizer.

Conclusion: SVR has removed Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate and Homosalate to make the sunscreen reef safe. They have also removed Methylene Bis-Benzotriazoyl Tetrametylbuylphenol and added  DIETHYLHEXYL BUTAMIDO TRIAZONE. I just read that it should be very photostable filter!

They have also moved up Silica which may be a good thing for oily skin. Seems like they have upped the Parfum on the list too... Weird because even the old version has a strong fragrance. I am not a fan seeing Isononyl Isononanoate because I think it was in something that was breaking me out, even though google let's me understand that this specific ingredient shouldn't cause breakouts. So it's me being superstitious. 

I am not against trying the new formulation! When I get to it though, it may be already reformulated again!

Thoughts:

- Strong parfum that SVR describes as "delicate summery scent" - it's not a bad scent but for me a bit too strong and lingers for hours

- No obvious breakouts or irritation but sometimes I do think that my skin is not its best after using the sunscreen for several days in a row



+ No white cast, but the sunscreen leaves some sort of cast: on me it is like a slightly beautifying/blurring cast

+ Hight protection of SPF50+ with (new) chemical filters

+ No eye irritation so far

+ Finish is not matte, but satiny I would say, looks natural, definitely less shiny than other sunscreens I've been using lately

+ Not greasy or sticky, but not exactly dry touch how the bottle claims

+ Dries fast on skin, almost immediately, a minute tops, I prefer to apply liberally and spread fast so that I don't have to drag little amounts on skin, because it starts to feel "dry" and I feel I am tugging my skin a little bit

+ The bottle has a great thin nozzle so I find it easy to squeeze the sunscreen lines straight to my cheeks

+ They claim water resistant on the tube, for the new version also sweat resistant and rub resistant on their website (not sure if these claims are for the old version)

+ Claims to protect from UVB, UVA, visible light, infrared

+ Works well under makeup (but I have noticed everything always depends on what kind of make up, what kind of weather...)

* Despite the name SVR Sun Secure Fluide, the product is not "fluid", more like a regular white lotion. Not a problem for me, fluids can be difficult to control sometimes.

* The sunscreen is not really moisturizing but not exactly drying either. For dry skin it might be. I do use moisturizer underneath.

* SVR is an interesting brand and they have several interesting sunscreens. They do not seem to use alcohol in sunscreen formulas either. I am just so confused that their sunscreen line Sun Secure is so strongly fragranced when their other sunscreen products are not.

I am pretty sure SVR has upped their prices by a few euros.

I think SVR Sun Secure Fluide SPF50+ is worth the money, but just barely. The finish is nice, the tube is handy, no irritation, but still it doesn't feel like a first choice to apply. Maybe it is the fragrance, or the feel that my skin likes other sunscreens slightly better in long term use (even though they leave my skin shinier). I don't know. If you can catch a sale like I did (probably they were emptying old stock) it is a good deal. Interesting to see if the new version feels exactly the same as old.

- Too "heavy" during summer, what an oily mess when mixed with my sweat

- Shiny, like a shiny layer on skin (not greasy though)

- Takes a little bit time to absorb

- Because it is an emulsion formula in a tube, it tends to leak and make a slight mess (I had to keep wiping the inside of cap so that I can close it properly)



+ Moisturizing like the name anti-dryness suggests; I do not need another moisturizer underneath and during summer I would rather use something else altogether (Garnier Uv Face Fluid) but for winter this is a good all in one

+ Didn't burn my eyes so far (I do not apply near eyes, my eyes are sensitive)

+ Didn't pill under makeup as long as I let it dry for 5-10 minutes first, sometimes I can apply makeup straight away without pilling though, but it is much better when I wait - maybe it depends on the foundation or humidity level or something how it goes

+ No breakouts or irritation

+ No scent

+ No white cast, the sunscreen uses only chemical filters

+ High protection of SPF50+

+ Easy to apply emulsion, no tugging

* For some reason, when it comes to sunscreen reviews, I procrastinate even though it is actually easier and faster to tell whether a sunscreen works for me compared to moisturizers or serums! But summer is coming again and I bet I am not the only one who is on the lookout to try new sunscreens so better make notes of older ones.

* I actually took a peek of some of my older sunscreen reviews and I do notice my preferences have changed as I have more knowledge of my skin and products. And that knowledge only comes from trying out many things myself... I have learned: When my skin is properly taken care of, denatured alcohol is GREAT and I want it high up in sunscreens; Chemical filters are great and BETTER than physical for me; It is all about the formula around chemical filters if the stuff stays put and doesn't burn my eyes or break me out; The best sweat proof sunscreens actually could be the ones with combination filters for me; Only physical filter sunscreens can still break me out even though they are viewed as gentler because lots of zinc oxide seems to clog my skin and usually the formulas don't include denatured alcohol etc to make them lighter; Almost all sunscreens are shiny or greasy or heavy or eye irritating or something unpleasant and the task is to find the one that is least annoying, not a perfect one.

Yes, even though Garnier Anti-Dryness Super UV SPF50+ wasn't my favorite sunscreen in the end. It is exactly what they promote: anti-dryness emulsion so it is quite moisturizing and creates a shiny layer on skin. So if you think Garnier's Face UV Fluid SPF50+ is too drying for you this Anti-Dryness Super UV SPF50+ is a good option to try, also Nivea's Sensitive Face SPF50 which is surprisingly a bit less shiny and less moisturizing. 

If you don't like any of the before mentioned, Innisfree Anti Aging Serum Sunscreen SPF50+ PA++++ seems to be a good alternative. I haven't tried it during summer but currently in winter-spring it feels soft and moisturizing and leaves skin satiny shiny. So shiny level is closer to Nivea Face Sensitive, but it feels more hydrating than Garnier Anti-Dryness. It is not serum like despite the name but it is very light feeling indeed.

I have been using and comparing all these sunscreens at the same time: Garnier Sensitive Advanced Face Super UV Fluid SPF50+, Garnier Anti-Dryness Super UV SPF50+ and Nivea Sun UV Face Sensitive SPF50.

Garnier UV Fluid is fluid like the name suggests, Garnier Anti-Dryness is emulsion and Nivea UV Face Sensitive is cream. 

Thoughts:

- Not much negatives as usually I dislike sunscreens more and compare them to each other - maybe could have a more matte and more absorbed finish for my liking? Still a bit heavy for super hot summer, I prefer this during winter time. Leaves skin shiny. (Not greasy though.)

- I don't apply "enough" sunscreen if the recommended amount is 1,2 ml. I think I apply maybe 0,8 ml? I do have quite a small face if it matters. Anyway, Nivea bottle says to apply 3 ml for face! I just thought it was an interesting detail. Maybe they include neck as well.



+ No scent

+ Doesn't leave skin greasy or sticky (but there is shine) compared to some other sunscreens

+ Finish is satiny shiny

+ Good under makeup when has had some time to set first, no pilling

+ No white cast

+ Affordable, easily available

+ No breakouts

+ Haven't noticed it hurting my eyes yet (but I do not apply near eyes anyway because of sensitive eyes)

+ Even though it is a cream instead of a more watery sunscreen, it is not heavily moisturizing, doesn't feel suffocating for skin 

+ During summer no need for moisturizer underneath (for me)

+ High protection of SPF50 with chemical filters

* I can't believe I haven't made a post about Nivea Sun UV Face Sensitive sunscreen yet, even though I have mentioned it here and there! I'm soon done with the bottle that I got last year. I really do like it. I am using products quite slowly because I use several different ones in rotation currently. I try to use what I have before buying more.

* I'll have to check the box in case I still find it for the ingredients if they are still the same. Companies tend to reformulate sunscreens almost every/every other year.

* I also like Nivea's body sunscreen, Nivea Sun Kids Spray SPF50+ a lot. Or whatever it is called now.

* Don't get me wrong, this sunscreen is not perfect, but it seems no sunscreen can be so far... so my search continues still. I want to try Japanese sunscreens next because they are so hyped and I don't know how these basic EU sunscreens compare to them. And new formulations come out every year. But this is still very good and usable and that is nice!

Yes. Nivea's Sun Uv Face Sensitive SPF50 is a good everyday sunscreen and I especially like it for winter and it is ok during summer too. It seems to suit many skintypes, dry skin just needs moisturizer, oily skin doesn't. I'm surprised I've had no breakouts so it seems to suit clog prone skin as well. I've had no irritation either, so probably works well for sensitive skin as advertised. Even though it contains alcohol denat and only chemical filters. I would say: versatile all arounder for a fair price and I would recommend to try it sometime if you got interested.

* A bit stuffy scent but very light

* Doesn't fully absorb, leaves skin a bit slimy but not sticky, also very soft

* I have to admit this cream felt quite luxurious and I wouldn't mind using more during winter! Maybe I'll look into goat milk products more. Tonymoly cream is maybe discontinued? At least seems to be impossible to find.

Tonymoly Intense Care Gold 24K Snail Cream

Empties Since January 2022

My empties from January to February so two months. Halfway through February I realized I wasn't going to finish as many bottles as I wanted and switched to sample pouches for instant gratification! Also I had been itching to buy something (anything!) in the beginning of February and wanted to shop my stash every day to keep me in check. In the end I didn't buy anything beauty related in February. 

Again, I want to say that I would rather donate my shopping money to Ukraine and I wish other people would do the same. There are several charities you can donate to. You can support Ukrainian businesses and products. You can boycott Russian businesses and products. I don't want anything when I know there is war and people need necessities, shelters, peace and independence! Currently many hundred civilians and even a lot of children have been killed!

Bioderma Hydrabio Gel Creme

Gel moisturizer. Don't know if I will repurchase. Sometimes, especially during hot sweaty summer it felt nice. Sometimes I felt like it was breaking me out or making my skin worse. So maybe it is just not moisturizing enough for other times. But it is not a bad product at all, great under makeup, absorbed well, no greasiness. Surprisingly strong fragrance though.

Avant Moisture Surge Overnight Treatment 

I really liked this moisturizer for the night. Really locks the hydration in and in my opinion felt and smelled luxurious. Not going to repurchase, price is crazy (80-100 € or so). This was in Lookfantastic Advent Calendar, they tend to try to up the value of boxes with overpriced stuff.

Dermatica Treatment Subscription Tretinoin+Niacinamide

I am using now several months old bottles, ha! It seems the cream doesn't expire as fast as the expiry date implies. Of course I am disgusting so I do not recommend you to do as I do. The cream felt still effective even 3 months after the date. Mind you, I store all my skincare/makeup in a dark, cool corridor shelf, I keep only the opened shower products and face cleansers in the bathroom where the moisture and warmness can get to them. When I have finished my last expired bottle, I will renew my subscription, it's been paused for now.

Missha Time Revolution White Cure SPF50 PA+++ Transparent Beige

My last bottle of this product! I had bought it as a back up long time ago. So I quite liked it! Like a high SPF sheer foundation. It has been discontinued now though.

Neulii BHA PHA Peeling Pads

Good gentle peeling pads! A tub lasted forever because I cut the pads into four pieces. I have repurchased. Not sure if they are still available... their price doubled at least. So I highly doubt they still exist when I am finished with the new tub.

Pile of samples

Some of my samples are already expired, I have just been hoarding them! I guess, I like getting them, but I am stressed to actually use them because my skin is slave to routine. Now I made myself a promise to use all samples as soon as I get any new. Not that samples are easy to come by anyway these days. Many are something I would have used during travelling in the summer of 2019, I had several trips booked... So I guess it also makes me a little sad to see them and think of all the adventures I might have had.

My goal was to use at least 10 sample pouches by end of the February. I ended up using 16. My goal is to use at least 20 during the next two months (I think I have left about 50?).

Ceralan Shower Oil Cream

Basic shower product, have repurchased a couple of times. Maybe will repurchase again. Currently will use a face wash that I didn't like as a shower cream. 400 g of Ceralan costs about 15 € so I am thinking I could try a cheaper shower gel without fragrance from supermarket that I saw, it was 1 L bottle for 5 € (for comparison, 5 €/1 L vs. 30 €/800g for a basic shower product is a big difference). I often do get the feeling that a shower product is not cleansing enough so it is always a surprise!

Kicks Beauty Glowing Beauty Exfoliating&Tingling Mask

Super old face mask! I believe it was based on glycolic acid. It was too harsh on my face or at least my face always looked so much worse after use that I just didn't use the mask anymore! In the end I used it for feet&legs.

Prai Ageless Throat & Decolletage Creme

Funny, almost whipped cream consistency! That was nice. But I disliked the scent even though it wasn't strong. I felt it was too heavy and started to pill eventually. But I have oily neck so if I put there something it needs to absorb completely and be very light. I got this cream from LF calendar. In the end I used it for arms&legs.

Aveda Botanical Repair Strengthening Leave In Treatment

Got this from LF calendar. It was ok, I think. Not a fan of the minty/eucalyptusy scent. It was quite strong. Didn't notice much extra moisture or softness but hair was better after application than without, so there's that! Wouldn't repurchase.

Shopping from January to February

From January to February so during two months I spent about 63 € on cosmetics. I must admit I had a hard patch in the beginning of February, browsing a lot of beauty stuff. It was so weird, I felt like I wanted to find something new to obsess over! Even though I have a box full of unopened things at home! In the end I didn't purchase anything in February.

Right now I don't even feel like purchasing anything, the situation in Ukraine is very bad and surreal, I never thought Russia would actually attack. I feel physically sick and urge people rather to donate to Ukraine's cause than shop cosmetics. Just a few years ago I worked with Ukrainian girl and we ended up discussing politics and she strongly expressed her worry over her country and she just knew something would happen eventually. I hope she and everyone else are safe and get the help they need and this situation will be rightfully solved soon without Russia completely and unnecessarily destroying Ukrainians' beautiful country.

I do hope Lethal Cosmetics releases more special products in the future! Maybe marbled blushes next, with exxxxtra fine golden shimmer. And marbling with apricot, orange, yellow, peach, coral.

They have just released a new purple palette but purple shades are not my thing. The new pink multichrome single Allure looks pretty though. Unsure about buying more pink eyeshadow though, pink is so difficult color to pull off for me.

I wanted to try something new! I like mini sized fragrancies. I expected more mini sets for the holidays but nothing was released or just available last year. I think it is about time to try something from Marc Jacobs and Burberry and of course I went for sweet! 34 €.

Burberry Her is definitely a slight disappointment! Turns out it starts as a sickly sweet artificial strawberry and doesn't evolve for a long time. Reminds me of being a teenager and dousing myself in cheap strawberry-vanilla body spray. I had no idea I disliked strawberry note this much. Considering I really like raspberry+vanilla. Can't even smell raspberry here but like I've mentioned, I don't have a good nose. At least this perfume is something different from my usual purchases. Maybe the other Burberry Her scents like Eau de Toilette and Blossom would be more to my liking.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Love Eau So Sweet starts a bit too screechy for me, but when it dries drown I do like it. This is sweet and fruity and sugary in a right way for me... But definitely not elegant at all or everyday scent. It is very, very sugary. And raspberry. But it is not heavy so I do not get headache. I wonder if I would like other Daisies as well. I always try to test them when I get a chance in store but they are not very memorable!

These were gifts. Very useful! Bare Minerals brushes were found in random store (Rusta) for cheap. Wonder if the brand is going to fold this year because this is extraordinary for where I live, my country doesn't have anything like TJMaxx etc. Why would BM get rid of perfectly fine brushes? Never thought of trying these brushes before but they seem quite ok!

Blistex Sensitive is a good no frills lip balm, no scent, no color, soft, affordable... Probably will get another one.

Dermosil's sea salt shampoo is a purifying shampoo to be used every 1-2 weeks. It's like a scrub because you have to get the salt goo to melt against your scalp. But it really works! My scalp felt very clean, airy, zero itchiness afterwards. My hair felt really dry though, too, because it has been treated. But if I would have my natural oily hair I would wash my scalp with this at least twice a week to keep it clean! Excellent product so far but I'll try to limit my use to only every 2-3 weeks.
