Nivea Cleansing Oil Soothing Grape Seed Soothing Cleansing Oil for Sensitive Skin 150 ml Review

Thoughts:

- Not available in my country and didn't see it available anymore on Notino either

- Doesn't emulsify easily, feels a bit thick and sticks to skin, difficult to wash off and the more you have makeup or sunscreen the more it all just mashes into a thick goo layer on my face

- Definitely needs a good second cleanser to remove the residue off face

- Annoying around eyes because easily fogs vision

- Takes a while to use and wash off

- Not particularly enjoyable product

+ A little goes a long way, it took at least 9 months of active use to finish

+ No fragrance, no scent

+ No irritation, not even around eyes

+ With a good purifying second cleanser, no residue or clogging issues

+ Removes makeup/sunscreen, but is not particularly great

+ Not drying, but also not soothing

* Nivea Cleansing Oil reminds me of Mizon's Great Pure Cleansing Oil. Probably because both have mineral oil? That one was also a pain in the arse to remove sometimes and left easily goo residue. I haven't repurchased Mizon since I finished in 2020. Why am I less irritated with Nivea's Cleansing Oil? Probably because it is a third the price of Mizon, has no sharp scent and I already had figured out how to deal with a more difficult oil cleanser.

Nivea Cleansing Oil Soothing Grape Seed Soothing Cleansing Oil for Sensitive Skin is not particularly enjoyable or special product to use but it does its job and is affordable, irritation and fragrance free. I would recommend going for an other cleansing oil if you can afford to pay for a more elegant formula that emulsifies easily.

Hylamide High-Efficiency Face Cleaner 120 ml Review

 Ingredients:

Thoughts:

- Very thin, watery feeling dry oil type, sometimes I feel like it just absorbs into my skin! But I just had to use more product to be able to massage again.

- Didn't like the chemical smell in the beginning, but now that bottle has been in use/open for a while can't smell it much anymore

- Also I am so used to pumps with oils that I found it very inconvenient to always pick up the bottle and squirt

- I feel like the bottle mechanism to open and close doesn't work really well and I find it leaks



+ My skin seems to like this one, next day after using my skin looks/feels somehow better (compared to The Ordinary's Squalane Cleanser for example and some others). I don't know why though!

 
+ Removes makeup easily, just need to use enough product

+ I was able to massage my skin and get grits, but I think some thicker oil is better for that (so that it doesn't start to absorb to skin at all).

+ No irritation, no breakouts.

+ Washes off quite clean, even though it doesn't seem to emulsify the same way (as white milk) as some other oily things - it just washes off and disappears

+ Doesn't dry my skin, doesn't leave it oily

* I have used Hylamide's High Efficiency Face Cleaner only on dry skin with sunscreen or makeup, not on wet skin like Deciem says you can also do. I have read complaints that it doesn't always work for wet skin however. 

* They also say: "Unlike traditional oil cleaners, this advanced micro-emulsion does not require using a towel or mitt to clean the face as it rinses off efficiently with water in a single step." Well, I haven't used traditional oil cleaners, just emulsifying oils. I am not sure if Deciem also means that you don't have to use a second cleanser afterwards High Efficiency Face Cleaner, but I always do, as my skin doesn't feel "right" without.

Yes, at least if you wait for the hopefully every year November sale, -23 % that would bring the price down to 14 €. There is nothing revolutionary about Hylamide's High-Efficiency Face Cleaner to me and it is not the best at removing clogs or for massaging the face and the scent is a bit chemical (so not a huge enjoyment but also not bad) and you might have to use quite a lot for dry skin to stop it from absorbing too much, also maybe you get irritated by the bottle design but... I am willing to forgive because the product itself just works so well for my skin and it is so easy to wash off without clear residue!

Kicks Beauty Deep Cleansing Oil 150 ml Review

Ingredients:


Canola Oil, Sorbitan Troleate, Polysorbate 85, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil, Parfum.

Thoughts:

- I haven't noticed much (barely at all) grits coming out compared to other cleansing oils I've used. Kicks cleansing oil is more like a makeup remover, not really deep cleansing, in my opinion.

- Scent is not bad (fake fruity), just not something I prefer, quite strong too.

- The short nozzle is a little funny, you really have to pick up the bottle to dispense the product to your palm. With other cleansing oils the nozzle is so long that you don't have to.



+ Emulsifies beautifully, instantly almost and is easy to wash off. Maybe leaves a slight residue when the makeup/sunscreen is stubborn but really not otherwise.

+ Sturdy bottle.

+ Not drying, not pore clogging, not irritating. Short ingredient list.

+ Removes makeup well. As well as any other cleansing oil at least. I don't think there's usually much difference.

* Kicks was having a -50% sale on Kicks Beauty in the beginning of this year and I thought it was a perfect opportunity to try new stuff. I am impressed. Kicks Beauty seems to actually have good products. I do have a wish list waiting in case they have another sale. :)

* I usually take 3 pumps of product. The oil is thicker than other (Korean) cleansing oils I've used, but it doesn't feel as oily, slippery. It also doesn't emulsify so strongly either. It just washes off.

* From the very first time I tried this cleansing oil, I knew I would like it despite all the other possible negatives: it washes off so beautifully and fast, I can use it, no matter how tired or drunk I am. Or maybe I'm desperate to find a replacement for Tosowoong's Apricot Cleansing Oil that I believe is discontinued...

* I've been using now Kicks Beauty Cleansing Oil for about two months, I believe it will last me for a while (wild guess: 6-8 months) because I'm alternating between different oils. It's in an opaque bottle so it's impossible to see how much there is left. But I think the bottle also protects the product because no light gets in.

Yes, I believe so, especially if there's a sale going on. It's not bad when full price either, but this cleansing oil is not perfect and when something already costs 16 €, in my own little mind I go "hmm... I might as well buy something that is 20+ € that is hopefully more luxurious or at least smells better". But, Kicks Beauty's Deep Cleansing Oil is a good basic cleansing oil and it does well in the most important parts, it takes off makeup gently and washes off immediately.

Mizon Great Pure Cleansing Oil 145 ml Review

Thoughts:

- This cleansing oil is very poor at emulsifying and it's almost impossible to rinse off of skin, it sticks like glue, no matter how you try to wash it off. The oily half emulsified thick layer just moves around!

- A second cleanser is a must as you must get the thick layer off somehow

- Fragrance is something I don't like at all, very strong and sharp, goes deep into my nose

- Takes so much more time to use than Tosowoong's Apricot Cleansing Oil for example (it emulsifies immediately and washes off clean)

- Not enjoyable to use for me at all




+ Very good slip on skin, feels thin and nice in the beginning, not much oily at all - then it all goes wrong...

+ Does get the make up off, 1-2 pumps is enough

+ Doesn't irritate my eyes, but I'm hesitant to go near my eyes with this oil as it's so difficult to get off

+ In the end, skin is soft

+ Doesn't seem to make my skin to break out

+ The lilac retro feeling packaging is really appealing to me

* Ok, so Mizon's Great Pure Cleansing Oil cleanses the make up and sunscreen in the end but this is not a product for me. I have however read reviews where people said that the scent was faint and lovely and the oil is the best they've used... so it's all personal experience.

* This cleansing oil does have some interesting oils included, like grape seed oil and evening primrose oil.

* I wonder if using this as non-emulsifying cleansing oil could help the issue? Massage this oil to skin, then wipe if off and wash the residue with a second cleanser... But I do want a cleanly emulsifying oil cleanser, something as easy as possible.

* I'm thinking I should try next Clinique's Take The Day Off Cleansing Oil. Seems to be a cult favorite, easily available and in a cute lilac bottle, as well! (I still do use Tosowoong's Cleansing Oil as it's a great staple but I like trying new things on the side.)

I do regret buying Mizon's cleansing oil. I'm just powering through it right now because I've paid for it so I feel I'm obligated to not waste it. I don't recommend it for anyone really. This is not anymore about the price per ml or how great results are, it's just that the user experience is so bad that it's almost torture.

The Face Shop Rice Cleansing Oil 150 ml Review

- Difficult to wash off, takes a lot of time: when water is applied, no matter the amount, it sticks to the skin

- It is a must to use another cleanser after this oil, because it just won't budge and leaves residue!

- Doesn't emulsify beautifully or fast

- I'm not sure if this cleansing oil is breaking me out a little too, but if it is it's very minor

- The bottle design is bad, it squirts the product everywhere, you have to be careful with it

- I didn't get any grits while massaging



+ Nice liquidy consistency straight out from the bottle, the slip on the face while massaging is great, no need to tug your skin or use a huge amount of oil

+ Price point is good

+ Oil lasts long because you don't need very much of it (1-2 pumps)

+ Well, the pink bottle and liquid look very attractive

* I think if  The Face Shop's Rice Cleansing Oil would've been my first cleansing oil experiment it also would've been the last and only one

* I just can't wrap my head around the hype about this product, why is it so popular everywhere? There's nothing good about it except the slip?

* Tosowoong's Apricot Cleansing Oil is superior compared to Rice Cleansing Oil: it smells nice, doesn't irritate eyes, emulsifies fast and easy, doesn't leave residue, is just as affordable

* But for actually cleansing the skin in the end, The Face Shop and Tosowoong are similar and okay, not that good for eye make-up I would say

* I suppose rice water/extract has some brightening results for some people but I don't think I'm one of them

* I have used maybe 1/5 of the bottle and still just dislike it everyday

* I made everything sound like it's a terrible product and doesn't work for anyone but you know, it's not unusable and doesn't wreak a havoc on my skin so that's quite well already (for someone with problem skin)

Absolutely not. I'm trying to figure out if I suffer through the whole bottle or if I can give it to someone!

Sadly, even with the low price, I don't think so as it's so unpleasant to use. It does last a long time and is maybe worth a try if you're just interested in trying different things. I would not recommend it for a sensitive skin though.

Tosowoong Natural Pure Apricot Seed Cleansing Oil 120 ml Review

- When I have eye make up etc I need 3-4 pumps of product and I still feel like it quite doesn't clean everything

- Sometimes makes eye sight a bit blurry... probably been sloppily rubbing my eyes. But usually it doesn't

- The bottle seems sturdy but the nozzle doesn't, however it hasn't broken



+ Smells really nice! Not overpowering, just naturally fruity and light

+ No breakouts or irritation even though the cleansing oil has mineral oil and olive oil (I did use a bottle of baby oil/mineral oil before for cleaning my make up and it didn't irritate either, quite the opposite, my skin liked it better than the makeup remover I had)

+ Cleans well with 2 pumps of product if I've had only sunscreen

+ I did get grits too while massaging

+ Doesn't leave skin oily or any film

+ Doesn't sting eyes or usually make eye sight blurry

+ Doesn't even feel like an oily product

+ Emulsifies and washes off easily and quickly

* My first cleansing oil and I'm very impressed!

* I actually feel sad now that I have to use another oil cleansing product I already have waiting (The Face Shop Rice Water Bright Cleansing Light Oil)

* The first bottle lasted me 6 months! I've been using it, hmm, a bit more generously with the second bottle but it seems like it still lasts a long time

* I'm not sure if using cleansing oil has had an impact on my skin, maybe my skin is softer/less dry now that I have been able to leave harsh cleaning toners out of my routine, also makeup removers because they usually don't agree with my skin either

* My pores do look better now than 6 months ago for sure but it can be anything or mix of everything

* I am just happy to find a product that doesn't cause me any problems and is pleasant to use (and is economical too)

EDIT: I also made my family to try oil cleansing. My sister is soon finished with her first bottle and wants another one. Success?
